失われた30年って
よく聞きますよね。
The "Lost 30 Years"—
you hear that phrase a lot.
でも、ちょっとまって
But let's pause
and think for a moment.
本当に全部を
失ったんでしょうか？
Did we really
lose everything?
経済成長は鈍化した。
それは事実かもしれません。
Economic growth slowed down—
yes, that’s true.
でもその一方で、
私たちが得たものもあると思うんです。
But on the flip side,
we gained something too.
例えば「安全」💡
これは見過ごされがちです。
**For example, "safety"**💡—
often overlooked.
昔は飲酒運転🍺、
日常茶飯事でした。
Drunk driving🍺 used to be
a daily occurrence.
警察に捕まっても、
「ちょっと勘弁してよ〜」
Even if you got caught,
you could say “give me a break~”
そんな緩さが
むしろ自慢だったり。
That leniency
was even a source of pride.
今では考えられない🚫
一発アウトです。
Unthinkable now🚫—
one strike, and you're out.
会社もクビ🛑。
社会的にも終わりです。
You’d lose your job🛑,
social standing—everything.
それって厳しすぎ？
いいえ、逆です。
Too harsh, you ask?
No, quite the opposite.
この30年で、
「当たり前」が変わったんです。
Over these 30 years,
"normal" has changed.
安全であることが、
前提になったんです🚗💨
Being safe🚗💨
became a given.
他にもあります。
シートベルト👷♂️。
There’s more—
like seat belts👷♂️.
昔はつけなくても
誰も怒らなかった。
No one got mad
if you didn’t wear one.
今や
全席義務です。
Now, it’s
mandatory everywhere.
子どもにもチャイルドシート🍼。
命を守る文化に変わった。
Child seats🍼 too—
we’ve built a culture of protection.
そして「品質」もそう。
And quality—
that changed too.
昔はコンビニで買ったお菓子🍬に
髪の毛入ってたってこともあった。
It was common to find
a hair in your snack🍬.
油臭いポテトチップス🍟も、
珍しくなかった。
Oily-smelling chips🍟?
Totally normal.
でも今は？
そんな話、聞かない👀
Now?
You rarely hear that👀.
小さな改善が、
積み重なった結果です。
Small improvements,
piled up.
それは企業の努力💼、
消費者の声📣、
Thanks to companies’ effort💼
and customer feedback📣.
そして文化の成熟🌱です。
And the maturing🌱
of our culture.
つまりね、
この30年は、
So, in short—
these 30 years...
目に見えない成果を
たくさん生んだんです。
Produced tons of
invisible achievements.
グラフに出ない📉。
ニュースにならない📰。
They don’t show up on graphs📉,
don’t make headlines📰.
でも、道を歩けば、
静かで安全な街🌍。
But walk down the street🌍—
quiet, safe cities.
お店に行けば、
清潔で整った商品🛒。
Go to a shop🛒—
clean, well-packaged goods.
これは偶然じゃない✨。
努力の賜物です💪。
Not coincidence✨—
the fruit of effort💪.
それって、
新しい日本文化だと思うんです🇯🇵。
I think that’s
our new Japanese culture🇯🇵.
もちろん、課題もあります。
Of course,
we still have issues.
賃金は上がってないし、
物価は上がってるし📈。
Wages haven’t risen💸,
prices have📈.
だからこそ、言いたい✊。
この安全と品質の上に、
So I want to say✊:
on this base of safety and quality...
ちゃんと
賃金も上げてほしい📊。
We deserve
better wages📊 too.
私たちは「失った」のではなく、
「創り上げてきた」🔨。
We didn’t just "lose"🔨—
we "built something".
それを
忘れちゃいけない💭。
We mustn’t

派手じゃない。

Not flashy—

みんなで

昔の日本も好きだけど、
今の日本も悪くない✨。
I liked old Japan,
but new Japan’s not bad either✨.
もっと大切にしていい。
もっと誇っていい💖。
We should cherish it more💖—
and be proud.
だからこれは
「失われた話」じゃなくて、

“what we lost”—
「得られた話」
